Pushing Through Time: Synodic Cycles and Their Developing Phases
Two planets enter fire signs this week. Mercury, the planet of commerce, trade, sales, and contractual agreements, enters Aries on Wednesday, the day before transit Mars finally leaves Cancer (the sign which is in is fall) and enters Leo on Thursday.
Thus begins the return of Mars to its original retrograde position of 6° Leo which began in early December 2024. When Mars went retrograde at 6° Leo on December 6, 2024, it began an almost three-month movement of delays, confusion, mis-directed energies and anger all the time it was traveling out of bounds, making it even more inaccessible for constructive and strategic planning. Frankly, with Mars retrograde and out of bounds all these months, I don’t have to tell you my readers, the continuing barrage of news and surprises coming at us from all directions making everyone just trying to dodge the disruptions facing each of us in our personal as well as global lives.
The USA Declaration of Independence had its North Node at 6° Leo and when Mars went to retrograde at that exact degree, on the Lunar Node (Moon’s Node) which affects the public at large, its fractious behavior as a retrograde out of bounds planet made and continues to make decision making or a clear direction impossible. Once Mars returns to 6° Leo in early May, 2025, then the hope is for more clarity.
Since the transiting Sun enters Taurus on Saturday, April 19, the days before Easter, the fixity and the ensuing square between Leo and Taurus may continue at least through this next week. Fixed signs (Leo and Taurus) are very attached to substance and not as flexible as other signs – so there may be struggles as to which direction to go or what decisions need to be made. The suggestion is that one takes a step back and consider some compromising opportunities that can create a better end game.
For those celebrating Easter, Happy Easter to you and yours. I know in Florida, we have had an entire month of Spring Break – the Sun is shining and the weather is quite beautiful. Just as this is happening, I am heading out for a vacation with friends to Costa Rica where I’ve never been. It’s one of those things on my Bucket List, which gets shorter each year – I guess its time to add something new to it – maybe Ziplining through the jungle – that sounds fun😊
Next week, after April 28, 2025, I will make available a link for you to register for my Aspects class through Astrology Hub starting on that date when registrations open. It is a three-week class with one Class and one Live Q&A each week. It will focus primarily on the Ptolemaic aspects, major patterns, number relationships to the aspects, measuring them as applying or separating and will include not only natal aspects, but also how aspects activate during some Secondary progressions as well as Solar Arc Directions. I would love to see you there and write to me for the special link at stathis.georgia@gmail.com I will be checking my phone to send that to you while away.
Mercury enters Aries on Wednesday, and Mars leaves Cancer for Leo on Thursday. This marks an end to months of confusion. Expect more clarity once Mars returns to 6° Leo in early May. With fixed signs like Leo and Taurus struggling for substance, consider compromising for better outcomes.
