Mercury went direct on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at about 6° Sagittarius. It catches up to where it left off on January 3, 2025. Still, it is direct and may take a couple more weeks to get going again on a regular cycle. With that said, there are still many challenges over the course of these next weeks but at least the planet that supports thought, travel, and processing is moving in a direct motion. This direct motion assists you in catching up with many of the end of year plans you’ve marked for completion. Since Thanksgiving was later this year and suddenly it is Hanukkah, Christmas and soon the New Year so a portion of this week’s and next week’s thoughts have to do with what we are or may see going forward. First, however, what is happening now at the Full Moon has caught us with some surprises, insights, and sudden changes in our lives. This is because we are now in the 90-day after the eclipses period between now and December 30, 2024.
Sunday’s Full Moon marked the 90-days after the September 17 Lunar (Full Moon) eclipse at 25° Pisces 40’. Any 90-day after an eclipses moment brings sudden news and surprises globally as well as personally. At that mid-September eclipse, Neptune was lined up with it. Neptune is a big, slow planet and expresses itself often without revealing everything. It is the ‘veil’ planet that can lead us down roads where we are suddenly lost or distracted or feel as though we are not always all there. It is also a planet that has to do with spiritual insights, psychic breakthroughs, and imaginations both inspirational as well as delusional. It can hide things then while lifting the fog now. It is still active but a 90̊ angle to the original position provides a bit more peripheral vision of what is necessary and what can be set aside.
Following are just two examples. In a very short time, the Assad government fell in 11 hours after almost 13 years! Granted, no one knows what that country will experience going forward but a rapid change in a government is unusual and may be a harbinger of things to come. The CEO of United Health Care was shot intentionally and a young man, 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, was caught and accused within days of the event and is now being lauded as one of two types, a murderer, and/or a folk hero! Go figure. Pat, friend of mine, just said to a group of friends this last weekend, it sounds like the French Revolution. The French Revolution began the people could not fulfill their basic needs. I don’t think Mangione is a folk hero by any means and, yet, in some corridors he is. We even had a tornado – yes, a tornado – just off the West Coast in one of the roughest storms of the seasons. Tornados aren’t supposed to happen here – or are they? The world feels as though it is filled with a madness that cannot be pinned down – now that is Neptune – lots of stuff happening that we cannot completely see. So how is this 90-day phase affecting you? I hope that there are some insights not available to you in September and that you can move forward.
That eclipse occurring in September heralded the beginning of a series of the eclipses that will be in either Virgo or Pisces throughout 2025 with foggy Neptune (as well as Saturn) hanging out with them throughout the year and into the new year. Eclipses always bring a kind of darkness when they occur and this is why, at least in my experience, these 90-day periods offer a brief respite of understanding. As Neptune lingers closely to these eclipses, occurring again in March as well as September of 2025, there is the possibility of things still hidden being further revealed until times like these last few days and, of course, the next set of 90 days after the eclipse of October 2 2024 which starts around December 30, 2024.
An excellent way to work with these energies making you sometimes restless, sleepy, unclear, squandering time, eating, or drinking too much is to make a list each day of just one or two things you wish to accomplish. This is a lot better than the larger lists because they can get you going in so many directions. Sealing off the noise helps too. Lots of people find respite in creating a mind map or treasure map for the one important thing one wishes to accomplish as we move through this foggy cycle that dissipates and illuminates all at the same time. Reason is not as dependable as instinctual knowing because the North Node will be moving through Pisces starting mid-January 2025 and the South Node will be moving through Virgo at that same time now – A lot of sidestepping occurs as Mars is retrograde until February 23, 2025. The added frustration can triggers easily. My best remedy for this is when someone comes at you whether a stranger in a parking lot or someone you know with anger or harsh words—don’t immediately react. Try to deflect or take a deep breath before responding or take some time to think about how to respond if it is more personal or in your business life. This creates a better environment than a tidal wave of words that cannot be taken back.
More on the Eclipses:
Where the North Node is moving now (between 4° and 1° Aries throughout December). The Lunar North Node finishes in Aries going into Pisces soon. The spring 2025 eclipses on March 15 repeated on the same dates in 2006, 1998, 1979, 1960, 1941, and 1922. The very powerful eclipse of Marh 30, 2025 and the last one in Aries occurred in 2006, 1987, and 1968. This is why there is a very large shift occurring in both March and becoming known in June next year. And then the September 2025 eclipses coming into very large light in late December 2025. So, bottom line, think about those dates in those years and what happened about 90 or even 180 days after them. What changes did you make and are attempting to shift towards now?
What you didn’t finish then may return giving you an opportunity to re-assess and re-think that plan of about 19 years ago. As this is all going on – the South Node, often referred to as the Dragon’s tail –is where you release the details and complaints or criticisms that do more harm than good. It will be in Virgo. Both the North and South Node begin their journey into Pisces and Virgo in mid-January and this month is about getting things to be ready for the very major transitions offered to you in 2025. And, yes, it is a year of transitions because so many planets are at the end of their cycles and trying to begin the new cycles but not completely doing it until 2026.
On a global level, the dragon blows its fire around issues like customer service, health care or health care systems, supplies, inventories, delivery systems, security systems, networks, equipment like computers and telecommunication devices may be needing upgrades and/or shutting down. Other things you may see in 2025 starting in mid-January are frequent mergers as the bigger fish eat up smaller fish companies. Neptune is associated with bubbles – Saturn running close it is the pin that pops the bubble. Identifying a very specific skill you have that you enjoy doing and which is one of your best assets is the golden nugget in the middle of a sea of sand. How can you make that work for you? What do you need to learn or with whom do you need to collaborate for attaining a new direction? Because 2025 is the incubation cycle simple and clear. Keep the structures that are solid and think about discarding the rest.
