On Saturday December 7, transit Neptune went direct at late degrees of Pisces—we are entering the weeds over the course of the next few months. The upcoming months will prove to be a testing ground checking to see how finely honed our ability to tell the differences between reality and fantasy. As Neptune spends most of 2025 at the last degree (the Anaretic degree) of its sign, Pisces. 29 degrees are notorious for feeling like one is moving faster and faster and going nowhere – much like the little hamster running faster and faster in its wheel in its cage thinking it has a destination, but never getting there. This direct motion moving each of us to the outer limits of reality along with Mars (the planet of action and strategic planning) going retrograde on the 7th of December begs caution. Tread lightly. Working on your various frustrations and keeping them in check as service people don’t show up for appointments or if they show up, not knowing what to do. Or, perhaps, telling you that the service parts for your big-ticket items are no longer available or that your costs for groceries or the availability of everyday items are stuck in some sort of supply chain nightmare – are all par for the course over the course of these next months. Add to the above, those projects you set your mind to finishing soon may not be happening as quickly as you’d like them to happen. So, what to do? Try different courses of action. You may not find an immediate action but you may find an alternate way to do things.
In fact, throughout 2025, many of the outer (slower planets) creating larger changes than we can currently imagine, are all (Neptune, Uranus, Saturn and Neptune) moving between the last degrees of their sign cycles and stepping into brand new cycles ever so gingerly, then returning to the old cycles over the course of months like mid to late March, or late June to early July, and later in 2025. You think you have a clear picture of how to do this or that, but distraction is rampant (Neptune at the last degrees) and sleep is interrupted. As someone once told me, you can’t avoid major transitory periods in your life, you just power through them. A little down time for exercise, mediation, and space always help in getting through these times. Part of going through them without losing your mind is to be mindful of influences that affect your judgment. With Neptune getting closer and closer to the transiting North Node, this is particularly important. If it doesn’t ‘feel’ right, then walk away. We all have those ‘red flags’ that warn us of something not being quite right. How many of us listen to them?
Red flags are your internal compasses. If something doesn’t sound right in a conversation or when driving your car you hear a weird noise, then don’t ignore it, that’s a red flag . Check out your source that doesn’t feel right and for heaven’s sake deal with your engine. Your plans for travel during the holidays need double checking. If something is telling you that it might not be the best time to leave town, then listen to it. This is Neptune doing its best work. Lots of things we are seeing in the news like the new administration’s appointments right now may feel like a contemporary version of the Truman Show (the film) and many of those names will probably not be the final picks as not only Mars is retrograde (until late February) and Mercury is retrograde (until December 15) and transit Pluto JUST entered the sign of Aquarius, – and is at the baby beginnings of its twenty-year cycle. Any slow planet at either the last two degrees of its sign (as Neptune is right now) or at the first two or three degrees (as Pluto is right now) suggests that much like a magic trick, what you see is only an illusion – a skillful illusion but not real. Which takes me right back to internal red flags. Your intuition on who to associate with, do business with, start relationships with, is always on point. This is the best use of Neptune (your internal gut feeling) going forward over the next few weeks.
