Before I talk about this week’s New Moon at 23° Leo on Wednesday, August 16, I want to thank those of you who have been listening to some of the podcasts for Astrology Hub and booking for appointments with me. I know there is a wait list for the appointments and I know that with all the internal changes happening for all of us, the waiting may not be something you’d like to do. Right now, I am booking into November 2023 and just wanted to let you know that this is what is happening. I do not see as many clients each week, because I want the work to have more quality than quantity and I feel this is good for you, my clients, to have more quality work from me. In the ‘old’ days I used to take a lot more people, but times and energy changes and to sustain that which I love to do, this is how it works for now. So, with that said, thanks for your patience in waiting for your appointments.
This is probably a great segue into this week’s forecast since we are finishing this month’s Cancer New Moon cycle, which began on July 17 in late Cancer opposite Pluto – a month of endings and beginnings, decisions made by us or by others, and letting go of what is unimportant and embracing that which is important, makes us feel secure, safe, and viable.
On Wednesday, we start another lunar cycle with the New Moon at 23° Leo, very close to where the Venus retrograde in Leo is hanging out in our charts. Leo rules the child within, the playful part of ourselves that we often discard as we get older. In a recent article in The Economist, Hasbro, a company known for its toys, is having a landmark growth in their business making toys for adults available in a movement called “Kidults”. The recent release of the Barbie movie, a Mattel product, reflects the same energy of the need to be playful as adults while maneuvering through the greater and greater challenges of adulthood. Perhaps this New Moon lights the way to consider how you can include more ‘play’ in your life as you move through major decision-making processes throughout the summer months.
This New Moon is about 150° away from Pluto, so the juggling act of being an adult doing adult things and the possibility of bringing in more play while tending to adult matters isn’t easy, but if you can schedule the fun stuff (without guilt) then you find you are a better juggler as you move forward on your path of completing much needed tasks this summer.
Sometimes this is difficult to do by yourself, so, the good news is that while the above continues, transiting Mars in late Virgo sends a lovely line over to transiting Uranus in late Taurus, offering sudden insights and/or opportunities to do things a little differently and with a good friend or group. Sometimes when we step away from a problem, the solution comes in. Our brains need breaks as well as our bodies and spirits. Go do something fun, with friends or a group that you haven’t seen in a while. Stepping away from something is exactly the thing you need to do to figure something out.
