The train is moving out of the station this week as Mercury turns direct on Wednesday January 18 at 08° Capricorn. This is the same day that that transiting Sun aligns with Pluto in Capricorn urging all of you to get rid of, disperse, give away, and dump the ‘stuff’ both tangible and intangible that isn’t that important anymore! This is the theme in the first few months of 2023 and this week’s annual alignment with Pluto before it exits Capricorn in late March for the first of three attempts to leave Capricorn behind.
Key thing to remember here is that Capricorn is one of the three earth signs, and, frankly, the most stubborn and unbending. The reason for this is that it is a frozen energy that can’t be moved out of a position unless it allows lots of time to percolate thoughts in the deep recesses of its consciousness. Before that process begins, it cannot be moved nor melt. This makes for a more difficult transition as Pluto moves back and forth over the course of the next few years between the last degrees of Capricorn and early Aquarius. My thoughts are that all businesses as we know them now will NOT have the same structures as the traditional business of these last decades. Could this mean that the playing field becomes increasingly even as power returns to the collective over the course of the next years?
Before we go down that road, however, let’s look at the rest of the week. We are in the last phase of this last month’s moon, the Balsamic phase. A simple exercise is about clearing out files and taxes and ‘getting it done.’ This Saturday is the New Moon at 02° Aquarius, offering clarity of what must be done to proceed in a less chaotic manner. This occurs just as the Lunar New Year begins the year of the Rabbit. Rabbits are very timid and have a very different energy than last year’s bold and aggressive Tiger events. Remember one thing, however, though rabbits are timid, they are very persistent in finding and getting what they want.
The weekend’s alignment with Saturn and Venus at 25̊ Aquarius pushes those late fixed signs of Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Leo to focus on the work that needs to be done while setting aside socializing for another month and a half as Saturn is finishing its run in Aquarius. Be prepared so you have more choices as late March arrives. Dig a few ‘rabbit’ holes and start stashing things – a good rabbit exercise.
The fact that unpredictable Uranus goes direct on Sunday at 15̊ Taurus could bring both personal intense international surprises again reinforcing the idea to take care of business, finances, taxes, and read, read, read what is changing in the world of investments and securities. Staying in one thinking position is dangerous – trying to see both sides of issues will be important going forward – this also affords a practice long forgotten in the last two and half years since Saturn has been traveling through the very opinionated Aquarius.
The cosmic fabric of national and international employment is on a tentative bridge where we don’t see an endgame yet while being very clear that we cannot go back to the ‘old’ ways of doing things. Therefore, it is important to open our minds to different things in the world that we’ve been ignoring because they seem boring. Sometimes the most boring studies offer the most information.
The need for personal freedom is a key need in these next few months, so facing those things we put off reaps wonderful rewards going forward. Address those issues that brought confusion and indecision when Uranus went retrograde in late August 2022? What is it you’ve been contemplating since then? The work, ideas, or services you’ve contributed to community in the past may have been on hold and now, as Uranus goes direct, answers surface after months of not knowing which way to go. In other words, it is a suitable time to move forward. While doing that, talk to trusted associates about what you are planning and get a little input from the community missing you.
