Micro-Forecast: October 18 to 24, 2021

October 18, 2021

I love the days when Mars (action and motivation) are in positive aspect to Jupiter (opportunity). Monday October 18 is the day in which this happens. Mercury is also direct today at 10° Libra 07’ and…we have a Full Moon at 27° Aries on Wednesday!

Wednesday’s Full Moon is in Aries opposite the Sun at 27° Libra. The Sun is very close to the fixed star, Spica, which is one of the luckiest stars in the sky. I always find this fascinating because in this part of the year when the tropical Sun is traveling between 15° Libra and 15° Scorpio (until November 7) it travels through the Via Combusta (translation: The Fiery Way).

Spica is one of the luckiest stars in the sky and is found in the constellation of Virgo where she is holding the shaft of wheat, suggesting bounty. I watch this each year and started watching this years ago when I was teaching a Business Astrology class down in Australia. It started with finding an original chart of one of the world’s largest banks, which started in a bar in San Francisco on October 17, 1904, by an Italian immigrant. This is where the Italian immigrants also stashed their money in the owner’s safe. I don’t remember why they didn’t go to the regular banks but coming from a family of immigrants, I can kind of understand the thinking – especially during those times. Like the Italians, the Greeks (my background) hung out with other Greeks and that community supported them. I suspect it was the same thing for the Italians in San Francisco in the early 20th century.

When the San Francisco earthquake came in April 1906 (2 years later) when the Sun was opposite at 27° Aries (the degree of this Full Moon ironically) …and burned down the city and the city’s banks…the Italian immigrants’ monies were safe. Spica, the lucky star and conjoining the Sun sign of the original bank chart acted as a protection measure! It is now one of the world’s oldest and biggest banks…and this bank has survived through many changes in the banking industry. So go figure.

This weekend, I am presenting a lecture and a workshop for Lake County Astrological Association. Sunday’s (October 24) online workshop is an overview of the Myths and Stories with a focus on Uranus. This is a modified format of the 15-hour class I teach for Midwest School of Astrology. I will focus primarily on Uranus in this lecture but bring in some of the other stories as well. It should be fun. The following Monday night (October 25) is a lecture on An Overview of Business Astrology for those of you who are interested on ‘what’ it is and how it works. Following is the registration information.
