This is a Last Quarter moon week, the one week in the month where we batten down the hatches, close out our paperwork, clean off the desks, and begin preparing for the New Moon next Monday December 14. It is a good idea to go through all those lists of things yet not completed and/or which are ready to be discarded. Clear a path for the new cycle.
This is particularly important this week as next week’s New Moon is also a TOTAL Solar Eclipse at 23◦ of Sagittarius. Total eclipses are intense in that they last the longest and they are associated with the USA chart. It is a decision-making eclipse as it is in a positive aspect to traveling Mars in Aries and traveling Mercury in Sagittarius.
On Wednesday, December 9, the transiting Sun squares (stresses) Neptune, which causes confusion or often represents some sort of disappointment regarding an issue that has been looming. Sometimes we get very sleepy as Neptune has a way of exhausting us or putting us amid exhausting news. It is, however, a great day to nap, to meditate, to walk near water, to shut off technology, watch a movie or listen to music, or help at a local Food Bank or something that offers service in our community.
Thursday December 10, Venus, and Pluto are in a lovely aspect to each other along with Mars. Mars is in a complementary distance to the Sun in Sagittarius. There is a lot of ‘fire’ in the air now. Fire sparks visions, spirit, and optimism. It brings light into our lives, thereby providing the spark for new projects, ideas, and adventures. This is perfect as tonight heralds the beginning of the holiday season at Sunset with the first of many holidays. Tonight, Chanukah begins. This begins the season of light as we move closer and closer to Winter Solstice, Christmas, and Kwanza, to name a few. As the days get shorter and shorter (in the Northern Hemisphere) it is important to go ‘inside’ and review our intention for the next year as this is also the ‘conception’ of new ideas part of the annual cycle.
