To my dear readers forgive me for presenting such brief forecasts over the course of these last few weeks. I have been recovering from a major rotator cuff/bicep surgery and just now starting to work on computer. With that said, I will attempt to present you with more extensive thoughts. The confusion of the current landscape is filled with anxiety and an inability to see things correctly or maintain restful sleep. Last week, transiting Saturn went direct at 25 Capricorn 20’. This often puts forth a more organized approach to things. A forward direction is in place. Still, however, Mars, when NOT retrograde is when we can put together a strategic idea in play or be clear about our next steps, and motivates us. However, it is retrograde and there is a lot of side stepping going on right now, which leads to frustration and some misdirected actions. Think first, act last.
For those of you who drive a stick shift and learned to drive a stick shift, you all know the challenges of perfectly coordinating the clutch release with the accelerate while switching gears. When we first learn, because we haven’t gotten that motion down, the car jumps around like a bunking bronco! Until you get those motions coordinated, nothing moves correctly. Right now, we are all learning to drive a ‘cosmic stick shift’ trying to move forward while being stifled by our internal clutch mechanisms which keep us from moving forward.
Yesterday, October 4, Pluto went direct at 22◦ Capricorn 29’. This added oomph which Pluto is known for has, over the course of these last few weeks, pushed us whether we wanted to be pushed, forcing changes and choices that must be made. Pluto takes no prisoners. Either you choose to change or refuse to change – remaining stuck, often in an untenable position that keeps you from growing and evolving. This requires courage, a deep dive into what drives us psychologically and requires each of us to address that inner fear that needs to be overcome and which freezes us up. The fact that Mars remains retrograde until mid-November helps us with this internal exploration while keeping us from acting foolishly. If you are trying to do a project, make sure you ask the right questions that no one else is asking, but need asking.
In a recent interview at Astrologyhub.com whose link is at the bottom of this week’s forecast; I was asked about the financial and business changes coming. I referred to a thing called the ‘peduncle’ which is a narrow opening in organisms that carry a concentration of nerve endings (like the stem that goes to the brain) or the stem that leads to a plant that carries all the nutrients that the plant must have in order to survive.
With Saturn and Pluto and Jupiter all now direct in the sign of Capricorn, all of them ruled by Saturn the planet of restriction and holding back because of some sort of trepidation, we are all pushed through this cosmic peduncle with very few people, items or beliefs that we held and knew prior to the chaos of this year’s pandemic. It feels like it is ‘every man or woman for themselves’. And in many ways, it is. Because when we travel through these narrow portals in time where so much has been removed from our lives—loved ones, homes (lost in fires, for example, in California), the ability to move around freely and visit with those we love because of ‘fear’ of being contaminated with this unknown airborne disease, well…it makes for some hard times where it feels as if there is no future.
Between now and year’s end don’t allow the negative side of Capricorn, that frozen fear, to stand in the way of change that is good. Adapting and letting go of control is the first step to change. Rigid positions never work, especially in the current climate. There is ebb and flow in nature as there is in the current conditions we find ourselves in. The inability to be flexible while maintaining one’s psychological rigidity presents you with more struggles than you need to have. It is also exhausting.
With Mercury (thinking) beginning to slow down and go retrograde on October 13 at 11◦ Scorpio 40’ while opposite volatile and chaotic Uranus, makes for some really sparky conversations and explosive situations. Mercury turns direct on November 3 at 25◦ Libra 53’so we have a few more weeks before things settle down. The day Mercury goes direct is the same day as the USA election which suggests the delays in the result that everyone is talking about and, I am sure, some surprises we don’t see coming.
Getting back to the point of this week’s forecast, try to catch yourself when fear rears its ugly head. I know it isn’t easy to confront fear. Many of us have ways of avoiding the consuming energy of fear. Many get angry (easy to do with Mars still retrograde and not in a good aspect to either Saturn or Pluto), others retreat getting tired and needing to sleep more while avoiding people, others look at it and ask themselves what is making them fearful and then bravely set a plan in motion for change. Everyone has a different response to these planetary aspects; this is where our free will comes into play. Simply put this is a time to parse what is of primary importance right now for peace of mind and one’s survival (those things to only take through that narrow peduncle) while finally setting aside or laying down that which we no longer need. This can be ‘stuff’ or ‘attitude’.
