Today is Labor Day. Each year I try to honor those who are workers and this year is more important as all our service, front line, first response teams have given so much so that many of us can literally live through this pandemic. I cannot even imagine what their lives are like with families that depend on them (even more now as we are home schooling and our partners are working at home) and still having to go into the trenches each day and deal with the never-ending pandemic that has cursed our world.
I am a strong believer in global prayer and today’s lovely aspect between Jupiter (planet of good fortune) and Neptune (the planet of spiritual awareness) and the fact that the Sun in Virgo working with Jupiter in Capricorn is also involved asks us all to pray or meditate on a global level. There has been an ongoing global mediation with a group headed by Hugh Strain for several months now.
It happens on Thursday nights about 6:30 pm Pacific time. And each week a different meditation is set for different issues around the world. If you are interested in being put on his list, you just write Hugh Strain at hughjstrain@gmail.com. When you get the weekly email with the suggested music and the topic, you can decide, even at the last minute, whether or not to participate in the meditation which lasts for only a few minutes.
Years ago, there was a global meditation on New Year’s Eve day. For the people in California it was at 3 am…yes 3 am…but I always got up to participate in it. The statistics on this meditation were quite interesting in that in the following week, the crime around the world had dropped markedly. I think that this Labor Day week offers several opportunities to get on the right side of issues that need attention. Governments are totally disorganized, let’s face it, they are. But as individuals, we can participate in group meditations that may help clear the anxious air waves for better world solutions and resolutions — many of which are needed right now. As Jupiter turns direct at 17◦ Capricorn, this is, at least, my hope. That we do something to make things at least better.
And…Mars is starting its retrograde period on September 9. That’s this week. The good news is that it goes direct on November 13. Between now and then we all explore a new direction, a new technology, and/or explore brand new ways of doing things. With the Sun in earth (Virgo), Jupiter, good luck (in Capricorn) and Uranus also in earth (Taurus)…a steadying influence is possible as we explore.
