The continuing retrograde of Venus (which goes direct on June 25 at 5º Gemini 20′) and the 2020 eclipses of June 5, June 21 and July 4 are throwbacks to June 1974, June 1993 and the summer of 2001. We know what happened in the Autumn of 2001 (9/11), but let’s explore other moments in history that correlate to these eclipses.
In 1993, in the USA and between April and October was the Great Flood of the Midwestern States. In fact, in August of 1993 the Mississippi River had the highest crest at 49.58 feet! This is like the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927 that found itself in the wake of this same eclipse pattern as well, where an entirely new levee system was built to alleviate any future natural catastrophes. On July 30, 1974 the House Judiciary Committee adopted three articles of Impeachment charging President Nixon with Obstruction of Justice. He resigned soon after that
On a more personal level, the world in 1974 was the time of the battle against the ERA. The issues of women’s rights, equal pay for equal work and the struggle of two very different factions were happening during this time. How was your life changing by the end of 1974, 1993 or 2001? If you can remember how your life changed during those years, there may be similar patterns emerging at this time but now you have an opportunity to do better where you struggled before. This is what eclipses do offer — an opportunity to dive deeper.
If one has worked on themselves, these patterns reflect a more mature personality and an acceptance that the past is the past and you can’t go back, but you can go forward. As a friend of mine used to say, “The Past is another country”. Take from the past only that which is good and try to let go of the thing you can’t control (eclipses are about letting go and releasing something) so that you can reframe a life filled with creativity, productivity, joy and expression uniquely reflective of your new self.
