Micro-Forecast: May 11 to 17, 2020

May 11, 2020

Saturn is stationing retrograde today at 1◦ Aquarius 57′. I like it when Saturn goes retrograde because it offers an opportunity until it goes direct in late September to focus on something you’ve been trying to complete. Saturn entered the sign of Aquarius in late March and stays in that sign until July 1, when it saunters back to Capricorn for a few more months until December 17 and then returns to Aquarius for 2 ½ years.

I find it interesting that Aquarius, an air sign, and is considered to be a sign of communication, networks, technology, and what has the world been forced to do for several months now, but communicate in very different ways while discovering very different communication platforms and opportunities. Aquarius is also the sign that represents satellite communication and one of the industries that I think is going to require specialized skills is that of coming up with Virtual Networks that outshine or compete with large networks such as Huawei if countries and industries are smart.

In addition, the Global Position System (GPS) is very old now. It was launched in 1973 to overcome the limitations of previous navigation systems. It is almost 50 years old, a full Chiron cycle, and the sense I have is that it is due for revamping or upgrading. There is a lot of space junk wandering out in space now from satellites that were blown up by various countries in previous years and one of the new Space Force’s first jobs is to remove the wandering junk so that our GPS systems are not hit and destroyed and then everything on the earth goes down like ATMS, networks. There was a recent interview on NPR by a former International Space Station captain who stated that that was what they first had to do was get rid of the orbiting junk, so our systems stay solid. There should be more news around this next year.

Another humorous moment in the news is that there has been a call for those who know COBOL language from some 50 years ago. This was one of the original computer programming languages after FORTRAN and before DOS, which some of us grew up with. The problem that new tech is facing is that very few people know COBOL now. As a result, there is a call to those engineers of the past who knew this language to help upgrade government (Saturn) computers, many of which are so outdated they cannot handle the current pandemic and other mass communication needs. This is such a strange thing when the USA is supposedly such an advanced country, but government computers apparently are still in the dark ages.

This begs the question, “Who knows COBOL?” A lot of those engineers go back — yes — 50 years! So those who survived COVID 19 and know COBOL may find themselves back in the work force again because their skills are needed

The point of these last few thoughts is that this week is full of not only Saturn retrograde on Monday, but Venus retrograde at 21 Gemini 50′ on Wednesday, and Jupiter retrograde at 27 Capricorn 14′ on Thursday! Certainly, a huge line up of retrogrades that may send chills up and down our spines, but they shouldn’t, because retrogrades afford the opportunity to solve problems.

Retrogrades offer opportunities to ‘rethink’ our work, our lives, our schedules, and, as indicated above, our needs at this specific time in history. Though we may all feel a bit tired this week, with all the big guns going retrograde, once the week is over, we all set ourselves down to re-think what our lives require now and what we need to do to change them based on the internal discoveries of consciousness from these last few months.
