I am sure you’ve all heard that taxes have been delayed until July 15, but it is suggested you get them done sooner than later as move into late spring. I also know that if you pay quarterlies, even though your April 15 taxes are not due until July 15, that the June 15 quarterlies are due in June. Odd, but true. This week is the last week that the Sun travels through the sign of Aries and on Sunday April 19, the Sun moves into Taurus
Just before that on Tuesday April 14, the Sun in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn are in power struggle relationships with each other. Who is the ‘boss’ in the family or office has some challenges? What may have been true a few months ago is changing and different people are finding that they are more adaptable to the current circumstances than those that were in charge before. This is good and is, in many ways, a kind of silent revolution of change that is brought upon us because of all these changes. Those who know what to do, do it and let go if you don’t. Others may have a better handle on what works now rather than others — get out of each other’s lanes and let each person take part in a way that best suits their personality and abilities. Allow people to step up that didn’t or weren’t allowed to step up before. Let go and listen to the alternatives on how to make something work whether at home or in a business.
Pluto makes us look at things in a black and white manner and whether we like it or not, with the Sun stressing Pluto, question if something is really the right thing for now or not. Go deep, don’t be afraid to look at what part you played in things that didn’t work and own it and say mea culpa! Be brave and honest about what part you played and where you didn’t listen or adapt. Remember Pluto has great respect for those who are brave and for those who are brave at facing their personal issues, demons, or foibles, head on, empowering all others in his path.
On April 15, the Sun moves on to challenge, square, Jupiter (the big god of ideas and good fortune). Things start getting sorted out and in a good way if everyone is fair. The opposite side of that is when Sun squares Jupiter, the need to escape the current reality, or the containment, comes in the form of big spending sprees or impulsive buys. Taxes are delayed but still must be paid. With all the online shopping, companies providing these services are met with confrontations from employees and the added stress laid upon the employees of those companies — the service people, the delivery people, who take things to our homes or offices and may not have protection from Covid 19. So, we could be looking at strikes of some sort where the companies providing these services must think differently in terms of their delivery agents. They will need to let go as well.
It is quite possible that by week’s end, when Mercury and Venus are in a lovely dance with each other, that we begin to see some relief with social isolation. You realize you’ve created a new way of being with friends and relatives and met new people along the way that weren’t there before this time began. By Sunday, as the Sun moves into Taurus (the fertile time of the year in the Northern Hemisphere) that planting gardens of vegetables and herbs help ground you. Years ago, I wanted change in my garden and so I put in a drip system and instead of planting all flowers put in certain herbs I use along with dwarf fruit trees and I have no regrets. With the looks of the peach tree blossoms and the fig and pear tree blossoms, it looks like this year will be a great year for fruit. Of course, in Northern California (where I am right now because I couldn’t go to my home in Florida this year with the Shelter in Place rules), our weather has been nice and is conducive to herbs and fruit trees. So, what ‘garden’ are you planning as the Sun travels into Taurus?
There are all kinds of gardens both mental as well as physical gardens. What ‘seeds’ have you stowed away in your notebooks of ideas that you were always going to get to, or, what piece of furniture do you love that just needed a fresh paint job, or, what lamp that you loved looks old but just needs a new bonnet (lampshade) to spruce it up? Making one’s environment beautiful, fragrant and comfortable is the theme as the Sun enters Taurus. And now we have the time in which to do it. More on these in the next few weeks.
