Micro-Forecast: August 31 to September 6, 2026

August 31, 2026

Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, forms a supportive aspect to transiting Saturn today, bringing a steadier feeling after last week’s unease. It also helps set a more encouraging tone for the week, as Mercury, the planet of communication, aligns beautifully with transiting Mars—Mercury at 13° Virgo and Mars at 13° Cancer. The main challenge may come Tuesday, when Mars at 13° Cancer forms a hard square to Saturn at 13° Aries. Even so, we begin these first two days of the week with more support than resistance.

Mars invites us to act, and its square to Saturn in Aries may feel less difficult than usual because Mars disposes Saturn in Aries. I’ve been sitting with this idea for weeks and will speak about it Saturday in Chicago during my lecture, Saturn: Anatomy of Fear. For the next two years, as Saturn moves through Aries, the Mars in each of our natal charts is being strengthened and gently asked to become less reactive in the area of life where it appears.

I hope this Saturn transit, ruled by Mars, begins a new cycle in which we learn to steady our overzealous reactions and soften the more instinctive Mars impulses in our charts. Rather than moving through daily life like crisis managers, we are being invited to become more thoughtful strategic planners—for our families, our work, and ourselves. Mars builds muscle, whether physical or mental. Wherever Mars falls in your chart, that is where you are learning to pause before jumping in, speaking, or reacting.

Saturn can also have the opposite effect: it can cool things down, which may be a real blessing for those of us who too often run straight into the fire and end up exhausted. The first half of this week gently asks you to look at how you will manage the tasks in front of you—one bite at a time—as the month closes with the Last Quarter Moon on Friday and Saturday. Clear your desk, sort through your papers, and ask yourself kindly: should this be done by you, or can some of it be delegated?

Be gentle with yourself as you sort through what belongs to you and what can be released; this week may ask for effort, but it also offers a quiet chance to reclaim your steadiness.
