Continuing from the Archives – When things aren’t all right: Part Two of Two
Just another Underground Network
Throughout history, the planet Uranus’s transition from Taurus to Gemini has often coincided with the rise of different underground networks—covert systems that emerge in response to upheaval, scarcity, or social restriction. Uranus, the planet of sudden change and rebellion, has been skewing Taurus’s association with extreme resources, stability, and commerce that have either grown exponentially or completely been depleted over the last almost seven years, thus creating fertile ground for alternative systems to form when mainstream structures are disrupted.
For example, during the American Civil War, the Underground Railroad [mentioned earlier] provided a secret lifeline for enslaved people seeking freedom, operating as a hidden network when legal avenues were blocked. Similarly, in the American Revolution, George Washington and Benjamin Tallmadge established the Culper Spy Ring, an underground intelligence network important for the colonies’ success against British rule. Later, during World War II, the French Underground exemplified clandestine resistance, operating beneath the surface to support liberation efforts.
These historical episodes were not random; astrological cycles show that Uranus was either concluding its passage through Taurus or just entering Gemini during these pivotal moments. Taurus, symbolizing material security and the established order, often faces disruption when Uranus arrives, prompting those affected to innovate and organize in hidden ways, because the extremes (Uranus) of Taurus building over its seven-year run can create extreme value systems that separate people into categories of haves and have nots. The merchant class (from the word Mercury) become the have-nots, and they begin to do things in an unusual way. In other words, adapt or die.
The emergence of these underground networks reflected Uranus’s drive for change, especially when established systems (commerce, communication, or governance) became restrictive or endangered and began to be controlled by an outside threat.
As we approach another Uranus-in-Taurus-to-Gemini transition—specifically, from November 7, 2025, through April 26, 2026—we can expect similar patterns of covert adaptation and inventive problem-solving. The astrological logic suggests that when economic and social stability (Taurus) is threatened, collective ingenuity (Uranus) finds new outlets, often through decentralized means— another way of thinking that coms of deep necessity.
Looking Ahead
This pattern may manifest in unexpected ways. For example, as hospital closures increase across the United States—rural hospitals have been shut down since 2010, with dozens more at risk according to the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research—there is a growing need for alternative solutions in healthcare access. Astrologically, Uranus’s influence over large-scale transportation and systems of exchange, especially as it moves into Gemini, points to the rise of innovative organization. We may see trucks not only delivering goods but also transporting medical workers—nurses, doctors, and support staff—to underserved areas, effectively creating mobile networks of care. If we can have trucks that are blood drive trucks and ambulances, why not traveling medical facilities? This forecast aligns both with observable trends in healthcare and the historic, astrological pattern of resourceful underground responses to crisis.
So the cycles of Uranus moving from late Taurus to Gemini have consistently marked eras where underground networks arise to address collective challenges, whether through secret routes to freedom, covert communication, or, in the modern era, the creative redeployment of transportation for supplying increasingly unavailable resources. Recognizing these repeating patterns can help us anticipate and navigate the disruptive but ultimately transformative times ahead.
When things aren’t right in America, the natal placement of Uranus in Gemini in our Declaration of Independence chart acts out and does things in a unique way. So, if you’re dissatisfied with what you’re seeing, consider stepping away from social media and doing things differently. You might draft a short email expressing your concerns about a recent policy or call your local government representative’s office to share your opinion. Even if they don’t answer by flooding their offices with emails and phone calls, which makes a difference, because it is not ‘ordinary’ and catches them off guard.
If you prefer, send an email to the media station instead of a traditional letter—these messages do get read, especially when their inboxes are flooded. Be resourceful and think creatively; for some people, it may feel as though things have reached a breaking point or become overwhelming. When you feel that way, channel the adaptability of Gemini and Mercury by finding new ways to communicate or establishing fresh networks. Listen to networks you don’t agree with and contrast and compare. Even study a little history – because as noted above – history inevitably repeats itself.
This is a moment for ingenuity, clever thinking, and opening your life to talking or working with young people who know their way through the ‘underground’ and discover new ways to make your voice heard. My father, who was quite Mercurial himself, and who lived to 100-years of age always told me, “Make friends with young people, not just your peers, because eventually things change and if you are still here, you need younger friends—they keep you sharp.” A horrible thought and a brutal truth. Embrace all ages, don’t stay in your own lane. Join new groups of diverse interests. Purposely seed your mind with new pathways and if they don’t work, much like the underground networks, there are many roads, and each one is a way out.
And so, what have I been doing?
Hello, friends! Over the past several months, I’ve been hard at work designing new classes, just taught Archetypes and Myth at Midwest School. Last spring, I taught a very well received course on Aspects for Astrology Hub and that class is still available at: https://starcycles.com/downloads/astrohub-the-essential-aspects-course/
I have also been diving into an old writing project with a fresh perspective and I’m thrilled to announce that the 2026 Cheat Sheet is now offered at only $4.95 right here. The 2027 Cheat Sheet will be ready in September 2026.
Upcoming Events
Personal Readings and Referrals
While I truly enjoy connecting with you through personal astrology readings, my appointment books are currently closed for private consultations. I appreciate your patience and understanding—so many of you have reached out requesting sessions, and it means the world to me! Since I cannot offer individual appointments at this time, I’ve put together a comprehensive referral list to help you find trusted astrologers. To access it, simply visit www.starcycles.com/consultations and scroll down to the very end of the page, where you’ll find a PDF download with the referral list. After more than fifty years in astrology (yes, I really am that old!), it’s important to me that you’re well cared for while I focus on new and more personal projects.
Upcoming Speaking Engagements
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be presenting at the United Astrology Congress (UAC) in early September 2026. The event will be held in my hometown of Chicago, Illinois, at the Marriott on Michigan Avenue—a place full of memories and inspiration for me. My talks will include “The Anatomy of Fear: A Look at Saturn” and “Rulerships: A 3-Dimensional Delineation.” If you’d like to attend, you can register at https://uacastrology.com/. Sharing these presentations is always a highlight, and I can’t wait to see many familiar faces and meet new friends in the astrology community while meeting many of you whom I’ve only met online while teaching – this will be a fun reunion for us all!
Online Classes and Website Updates
Even though private sessions are on pause, there are plenty of ways for us to stay connected. I’ll be offering several new online classes this autumn—details will be posted soon! To make sure you get updates about these courses, please check the Starcycles.com website regularly, where you’ll find video and audio classes as well as a handful of free offerings-check out the FREE Pluto lecture from many years ago – it still holds. If you’d like to receive notifications about upcoming classes, just sign up for our newsletter list on the website or follow our channel at www.youtube.com/@Georgia_StarCycles
In addition, I’m dedicating more time to writing my personal memoir, a crazy adventure on how I became an astrologer while also developing a new website that is more user friendly for our nonprofit foundation. The 501C3 educational foundation website, www.alexandriaibase.org, is designed for the global community interested in researching or discovering literature on astrology—keep an eye out for updates as we build this resource together! Keep your fingers crossed that we will be ready by UAC in September, 2026.
Personal Reflections
As I focus on teaching, writing, and community projects, I’m reminded of the joy and inspiration that comes from sharing astrology’s wisdom with others. My presentations are often shaped by stories from my own journey—some of my favorite moments have come from conversations at conferences and feedback from students in online classes. When I see the excitement in someone’s eyes as they finally understand a complex astrological concept, it makes all the long hours worthwhile. I encourage you to stay engaged, aways asking questions until you completely understand – an important thing right now. Explore new avenues of learning; astrology is a lifelong adventure, and I’m grateful to be part of yours. I’ll be back on the board next week and look forward to connecting with you soon.
Warm wishes,
