Wipe the sweat from your brow as the transiting Sun in Libra because transiting Sun moved past the opposition to Saturn and Neptune in the last few days. Last week’s turmoil and upset began to see a little respite this week, and we can all take a moment and breathe. As the weather begins to change in either hemisphere, there is a new feeling of change with, hopefully, more balance and compromise.
Venus, though in middle degrees of Virgo, and not always as comfortable as other Venus’ does push you to finish something you may have started at September’s first eclipse on September 8 at 15◦ Virgo/Pisces. As Venus crosses the point of that eclipse in mid-week heading towards a conjunction with the South Lunar Node, past relationships may return to finalizing or clarifying past relationship issues left unresolved. It may be a wonderful time to get back to seeing friends, getting back to a service organization from which you’ve stepped away and shore up fences that need mending between you and others where there may have been some discord. Remember to listen more than talk right now – that goes a long way.
This week transit Mercury in Libra is opposite Chiron and begins its square to Jupiter. The thing to watch is Mercury’s opposition to Chiron and its subsequent square to Jupiter on October 1 and October 3, because talking about ‘stuff’ rather than what needs to be really discussed could be painful. Sometimes it’s good to hold back on something that might be said that you can’t take back. Repeating my suggestion again – Listening may serve you far better during those days than talking.
A terrific way to work with Mercury opposite Chiron is to teach a skill or an ability you have to another or ask another to show you how to do something that expands your options. Mercury and Chiron are masters of teaching, gathering materials that add to your skills repertoire. This strategy trumps getting angry in a potentially contentious discussion that can also me a Mercury opposite Chiron event. Opening a field of ideas and sharing knowledge is a better way to use this energy.
Speaking of ‘speaking’…I am lecturing LIVE for NCGR in Albany, CA on Saturday October 25 on the 29th degree and its implications for the last year and the future year. The 29th degree is more important than we realize. It bids change – and change we cannot see coming – it throws us into the eye of cosmic hurricane. We struggle to find doors to get us out of a situation and the doors never appear until the planets finally move on and STAY in the next sign. In this last year and in this last month, both Saturn and Neptune, who had moved on to Aries, have now returned to finish their runs in Pisces through February 2026. The heat is in the cosmic kitchen – just don’t turn on any gas burners to light the fire any more than it already is – and, instead, try to maintain a kind of “Zen” mindset to move through this special time in our history.
