Micro-Forecast: July 21 to 27, 2025

July 21, 2025

Hello everyone. I really was not away last week – wish I were. I returned to California on June 18 from my six months in Florida. Usually it is a soft landing, but not this time. My relocation chart for California was on full alert and red warning. This is so typical of when you relocate yourself and live in an area for an exceptionally long time. For those of you who don’t know this, you always have your natal chart wherever you travel on the planet, but…if you’ve relocated for a very long time to a certain area, include using your Astro cartography map or your relocation chart.

In California I have 00° Aries rising. My regular Ascendant is 26° Taurus but either way I have either Uranus on the Taurus ascendant or Saturn and Neptune on the relocated Aries ascendant. Since the day I set foot on California soil, I became the ‘consultant’ to help coordinate a very unexpected move for my children’s father who had a very serious fall, then a stay in hospital, then to rehab, and then moving him (finally) into Assisted Living (where he should have moved two years ago) while trying to convince his very stubborn mindset that it really was time!

My children pulled together with my capable stepdaughter and coordinated an amazing feat of team cooperation in assisting their father in this very life-changing event. There were so many moving parts moving at such a fast pace that in the chaos, of emptying his home to prepare it for sale, and moving him comfortably to a good facility, I also managed to fracture my toe (as Mars in Virgo opposed my Mars/Sun in Pisces (feet).

So, no, I was not on vacation. Instead, I was on Saturn Uranus Neptune duty and learned (always good to learn something). That is just because you get a divorce (34 years ago) if you have children with a spouse, well, there is always the potential that you will still be involved with them at the other end of their days as well. The great news is that everyone worked together with breakneck speed (my daughter came from Florida to help clear the house) and my dear son, who has been his primary caregiver for years – tackled the computer end of finding files, numbers, and data. I was, however, still the ‘consultant.’

Everything began to escalate as transit Uranus entered Gemini on Monday July 7, 2025, so it is my contention that while Uranus puts its tiny foot into Gemini (until November 7, 2025) to get a sense of what the next seven years will be about starting officially in late April of 2026, that the very fast paced information and activity cycle is going to be moving at a speed for which we all should be organized. Some of the good news on all of this is that, my opinion only, is that Uranus in Gemini is much better for dealing with problem solving and for working with better ideas with better teams that can process information quickly.

Moving on – this week begins with, what else, but Mercury retrograde as of last Saturday, in middle degrees of Leo until it goes direct at 4 degrees of Leo on August 11. At that time, the direct motion of Mercury at 4° Leo is remarkably close to the opposition to transiting Pluto and Pluto is the cosmic detective who uncovers things yet unseen until he is aspected stressfully by certain planets.

As Mercury changes its direction in August wherever Mercury has been retrograding in your chart is where you are uncovering and, hopefully, getting clearer about what you would like your life to look like going forward. The fact that Mercury is in Leo (disposited by the Sun in your chart—which represents your life and health) suggests that taking care of any health matters left for later be addressed now.

Wherever Mercury is retrograde in your chart, is where you conduct a rethink about that area of your life regarding the house in which we see it and how to make that area of your life better. You may not have the immediate answers, but the retrograde motion helps you start at least cleaning out things as well as attitudes that just are not working anymore.

Mercury retrogrades are not ‘bad.’ Depending on what the other planets are doing with each other. The retrograde provides a potential roadmap to what to expect or, at least, prepare for. As soon as Mercury went retrograde, what else did we see in the sky at the same time?

We saw transiting Mars, ever the pot stirrer, in a hard aspect to transiting Venus. When those two square each other, they really do not get along. They both want their way. And since they are both in mutable signs—Venus in Gemini and Mars in Virgo—there is indecision, distraction, difficulty in focusing and loss of sleep. Yay!

The entrance of Uranus to Gemini on Monday July 7 exacerbated any unresolved anxieties unaddressed. So, what to do? Honestly, just get what you need to do each day that allows you to function even if minimally. For me, I make a list of two or three things now – and if I get through those, I consider it a win. Another way to get through this very energized and fractious period is to step away from the noise – try to get a power nap in if you can or a short twenty-minute daily meditation if you can. Meditation or taking a long walk seals up the holes of leaky energy and brings you back into your body. Most importantly step away from too much digital noise – especially now with all this mutable energy flying around all of us.
